Wedding and portrait photographer in Alicante Murcia Torrevieja Spain

Wedding and portrait photographer in Spain and abroad

I am one of the wedding photographers and portrait photographers that has worked with most of the wedding venues on the Costa Blanca. I have been working as an international wedding photographer and portrait photographer and have operated my photography business for more than 13 years in the area .

Torrevieja, Alicante and Murcia

I am a photographer based in Spain near Torrevieja (between Alicante and Murcia), on the Costa Blanca. Even though I am primarily booked to shoot weddings and portraits on the Costa Blanca, brides also book me for weddings on the Costa Del Sol, in Amsterdam (Holland), Norway and the UK (London area). I absolutely love to photograph a destination wedding so having to travel long distances is not an issue.

Destination weddings are a great way to document  in a photojournalistic manner you and your loved ones in a relaxed atmosphere.,,The longer a professional photographer is documenting, the more people get comfortable with the idea of having a photographer around, the better the wedding pictures are.

Those moments

Photographing people that are relaxed makes them look their best, that is when a lot of the magic starts to happen: special moments between the bride and groom, the bride holding hands with her groom during the wedding reception, the bridal party having a laugh and the wedding story unfolds .”

I do not work with a shot list but prefers wedding photojournalism to create images that are emotive, candid and authentic. As a photojournalist, I capture in an unobtrusive but creative way the events that unfold on the day – beautiful, authentic and timeless photos happen every time the shutter is pressed. This is story telling at its best. The key word here is ‘ happen’ and not ‘ posed’ or ‘ staged’.

Even-though my style of capturing does not involve lots of posing, at some point during the wedding day the couple are photographed creatively in a few poses during a 1 on 2 photo session. If you have had enough, we stop, simple. The photo shoot should be a great experience not a stressful experience. I want to capture you at your happiest, that is when you and I make the best wedding photos.

When do I book my wedding photographer?

In general a wedding couple book their videographer or photographer (and usually most other wedding vendors) 1-2 years in advance. This booking moment is after they have secured the wedding venue and the wedding date. After that, then the search for the wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, invitations, etc.

What package would you like?

A wedding photography package can include: a wedding album, an engagement session, a photo booth, a slideshow, download link to the high resolution images with printing rights, and/or photographic prints. To make sure you are happy with the package and at ease during the wedding we do a pre wedding consultation either by phone, Skype, FaceTime or in person. Together we write down all the details of the package and pricing. Each booking is confirmed by the payment of a retainer fee. This can be done by bank transfer or by card.

Videography and commercial photography are two other creative outlets that I am passionate about. Either in a studio or on location.

See lots of images from real weddings in the portfolio and blog. If you have a wedding planner, feel free to ask your wedding planner to contact me. I am always open to cooperate with wedding planners and other wedding vendors.

How I became a wedding photographer

It was Christmas, I was 7 years old and very excited as I unwrapped my first camera – a Polaroid 1000 (instant camera) – from Santa (a.k.a my dad).

This is how my life in photography started….

It didn’t take long before indulging in my new addiction. In my eyes everyone was a ‘star’ and truly deserved a picture with my new camera. I tried a few different things of course,…[note to self:] stick to ‘driving’ the camera! You are better at that than driving a car or a bike!

A wedding photographer in his younger years

Andrew in his younger years

I would mastermind my plans and photo ideas, sketch out and design all my ideas in torch light under my sheets.

This new world was uncovered and everything, every moment and  everyone became interesting. Ultimately this, thanks to that Christmas, laid the foundation for my career in professional photography. Even in the early days after gaining my degree in Business Management ‘conforming to the norm’ or ‘plan B’ as I called it, my passion and distraction was always taking pictures.

Husband and wife team

I am grateful every day, and yes I do have a tell tale bruise as I have to pinch myself! My two boys and my best friend (a.k.a my wife, we are also a husband and wife photography/videography team) do a pretty good job of keeping my feet on the ground as I love nothing better than to get carried away in my work and world of photography.

My world – Inspired by you.
